Description of Project
The project consisted of the provision of new retail spaces and the refurbishment of existing retail spaces at Euston Station. The new retail areas were formed around a new mezzanine deck extending over the existing concourse.
As the vast majority of all the existing M&E services at Euston Station ran through the existing concourse then all these existing M&E services had to be diverted to facilitate the main construction. As there were no existing records of the existing M&E services then in order to divert the existing services clear of the concourse Emeg had to physically trace out every existing service which included HV & LV distribution, small power, lighting, fire alarms, public address, CCTV, data, water, heating, gas, drainage etc. The diversion works involved the removal of redundant services, the diversion of existing services, replacing existing services with new and a vast amount of temporary works to ensure the station remained in full operation while the works were undertaken.
The main construction works related to refurbishing areas consisting of the existing food hall at concourse level and the Public House at first floor. Emeg were employed to provide a Form 003 design for new M&E Services to accommodate these changes to the retail spaces.
