Northampton Castle Station Redevelopment

International Logistics Centre DHL Logistics Centre (Manchester Airport)

234,742kWh of Clean Energy

490 Solar Panels

100kW Inverters

43 tCO2e Saved Per Year

We installed a 259.7kWp roof mounted solar array for DHL International Express Logistics Centre at Manchester Airport.

The airport-adjacent facility is a logistics hub for DHL’s local operations in Manchester and the wider north-west of England, and the scheme was developed in negotiation with DHL in order to bolster its ESG credentials.

The system featured 490 tier 1 Longi 530W modules, affixed to the trapezoidal roof with an Sunfixings MRD mini rail system. The 260kW array was connected via 2Nr 100kW Solis Pro inverters with 4Nr Projoy DC isolators employed to ensure RC62 compliance and provide a central shutdown point for the PV system.

The system is expected to generate 234,742kWh of clean energy per annum, with a specific annual yield of 903.78kWh/kWp, saving 42,952 kg of CO2 per year.

Due to the nature of the site being adjacent to and fed from Manchester airport, pre-construction activities were critical to the success of the project.
